Literature Text
My Mariposa speak thy will
and gaze upon the waters still
pray silence for the winds sweet song
while letting daydreams dance along
your wishes may the Gods fulfill...
Your kiss could melt the coldest chill
thy touch it takes away my ills
in your embrace I feel no wrong
My Mariposa...
The teardrops down your cheeks will spill
in pools of joy they now distill
I'll be your shelter from the throng
may you find peace your whole life long
your beauty time could never kill
My Mariposa...

Tender Hope
On the edge of my window
grows a small green bud
A white candle stands in the wind
One pale frail flame
flickers with every frozen breath
and the subtle echo lives in my shells
and I know, I can hope again
Literature
LOSS
The clouds darken closing in to steal the light away
while the pain blossoms as i lose what means so much to me
The CRASH of the thunder so booming and proud
masks the sounds of my heart as it shatters into a million shards
The flash of lightening putting on a show for all
so beautiful to behold but merely a prelude of the tears to come
Soon the rain begins to fall
leaving my tears to be just a few more drops in the downpour
The rain's path down my window
mimics the one my tears etch upon my cheeks
When the clouds part and the sun breaks through
will its light be able to pierce the gloom
Will I once again see the colors of the rainbow

2/30
Summer burns its spine
into my shoulders through the asphalt
and I cry the lullabies
my mother used to sing me
//bury the memories underneath my
fingernails like a splinter that will never heal//
//only to bare my teeth
when my tongue finds its blackened corner//
