Literature Text

Quiet is the night, the night brings but despair
The moon waxes a glossy glow, the stars they dance on air

Mother sets the table for the coming evening meal
And Father may just lend a hand, depending how he feels

City lights will catch your eye in the last gasps of the day
Children laughing happily have goodnight prayers to say

Father watches the evening news, while mother reads her book
The clock gives a final tick as midnight baits the hook

Then all is quiet, not a sound, the creatures singing blends
Quiet is the night, the night brings us the end…
